Course Objectives:
This course aims to classify partially edentulous patients, to list the components of Removable Partial Dentures (RPD) and clinical and laboratory procedures of RPDs, and to discuss planning of RPDs in the 7th semester. The purpose of the course in the 8th semester is to manage various applications of different restoration types and restorative materials; to instruct principles of different type of restorative and prosthetic techniques according to hard tissue loss. Evaluating and diagnosing the clinical cases with extensive dental hard tissue loss, planning the restoration types according to tooth structure loss, and evaluating the treatment procedures of endodontically treated teeth are also explained in details. The clinical and laboratory procedures of RPDs are also explained in detail in the clinical part. The course includes lectures given by faculty members of Prosthodontic department at designated hours and is further supported by clinical part during which students practice in clinic in order to develop their practical skills. Similar to the didactic part, the clinical part is also conducted by the faculty members of Prosthodontic department at different clinical hours.
Course Content:
The clinical and laboratory procedures of removable partial dentures, fixed partial dentures and post-core restorations are also explained in detail in the clinical part.
