Our faculty is the first foundation university Faculty of Dentistry in Turkey. Together with its own dental hospital, our Faculty, whose aim is to raise secular, contemporary, researcher and innovative dentists who are fully committed to the principles and reforms of Atatürk's ideals, is not only the most modern and contemporary education and health institution in Turkey, it is also one of the few examples in the world in this field. In addition to the undergraduate program, our faculty, which also gives importance to postgraduate education and doctoral studies, has also accelerated the development of versatile scientific research. These results, which will contribute to maintaining the highest level of patient care, are carried out in the Basic Science Research Laboratory and the Hard and Soft Tissue Laboratories.
In addition to providing the best uninterrupted service, the happiness of our patients and the success of our students are the greatest foundations and pride in our efforts to train dentists and scientists who can work in accordance with world standards. Our students benefit from clinics and laboratories equipped with the latest technical equipment required by modern dentists. Preclinical training is carried out on robot patients in "Simulator Laboratories" used for dentistry training. Students who receive their clinical training on real patients are working in fully sterile conditions in the student clinic, which is highly developed in terms of physical possibilities.
There are five operating theaters in our faculty, where surgeries under local and general anesthesia take place. Students monitor the operations in the operating room via the intra-oral and extra-oral cameras live from the conference room and classrooms, and can ask questions to the operator. Diagnosis and treatment procedures are performed in computerized units and patients can benefit from the latest developments in dentistry technology.
As Yeditepe University Faculty of Dentistry and Dental Hospital we have accreditation from the following:
01.09.2000 BS-EN ISO 9002 (in Training and Patient Services), 08.05.2003 BS-EN ISO 9001 (in Training and Patient Services), 02.11.2005 EFP (European Federation of Periodontology) accreditation in graduate education, 16.01.2008 ADEE (Association for Dental Education in Europe). Since 2009, we have been accredited by JCI (Joint Commission International, U.S.A.), the world's most trusted institution in the healthcare industry, for a third time in outpatient care standards.
In the letter of approval of the accreditation document submitted by JCI, the following expression used for our institution made us happy on behalf of our country: "The Turkish people should be proud of Yeditepe University Faculty of Dentistry, which constantly raises its quality by focusing on this challenging goal. We congratulate all the staff the Yeditepe University Dental Faculty for their commitment to the development of quality of service and to the assurance they have given in the area of patient safety." Thus, Yeditepe University Dental School and Dental Hospital are the first and only Dental Faculty and Hospital in the World to uninterruptedly receive the Accreditation Certificate three times from JCI.
Our faculty is the first and only faculty to apply for accreditation in education from the American Dental Association (ADA). For this purpose, in the 2012 - 2013 academic year, our faculty prepared a very detailed report on the standards of the education being carried out, and as a result of the evaluation by ADA, a visit to our institution for an audit was approved in October 2014. A preliminary visit was carried out by a team of 5 experts in each of their fields, and the first stage of the work carried out for accreditation was completed with positive impressions and success.
